Artist Statement: I attempt to use my art as a way to process through
life experiences, thoughts and dreams; to explore and explain ideas
without using words. Color is used to express mood, emotion and racial
indifference. As an artist who gets caught up in the final product, each
of these paintings have helped me remember that often times it is the
process that is most important, not only for my eyes and my hands but
for my heart and my soul. - Melody
