James E. Turner, Sr.
Executive Director
 

Elder James E. Turner, Sr. received his B.S. from Jackson State University. He also attended Wesley Biblical Seminary in Jackson, and Tougaloo College. Rev. Turner received his B.B.S. in Religion Education from C.M.&I College. He served in the United States Air Force for 21 years and was licensed by the Church of Christ (Holiness) in 1981. Rev. Turner has been in active ministry for 25 years and has served as Executive Director of the Neighborhood Christian Centers for 12 years. He is a member of the Amos Network, The Fellowship of Hope, Mission Mississippi, Christian Community Development Association, National Black Evangelicals Association, and was a founding member of the Jayess Christian Community Development Association. Rev. Turner has served the Church of Christ Holiness through his involvement with the Budget Committee, Board of Education and the Executive Committee, as well as serving as District Chairman for South Mississippi. Rev. Turner has served as Pastor to Mt. Zion, Marl Grove, Greater Mt. Bethel and Galilee Church of Christ (Holiness) U.S.A.

Administrative Director

Mrs. Alma Turner serves as the Administrative Director at Neighborhood Christian Center.  Rev. and Mrs. Turner have four children: James, Travis, La Keisha and Seneca. 


Mrs. Johnnie Bruce
Tutoring Director
and Director of Summer Super Stars Program
 

Mrs. Johnnie Bruce received a specialist degree in Elementary Education from Jackson State University with additional studies from University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS. She has 35 years experience in the educational system and has been Tutoring and Summer Programs Director at Neighborhood Christian Center for 4 years. Mrs. Bruce also attends Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, Jackson.


Ms. Melody Moody
Development Director

Ms. Melody Moody received her Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies/Christian Ministries from Belhaven College. Ms. Moody spent 3 years coordinating service projects and special events for the Community Outreach program at  Belhaven prior to working at NCC. She also spends her time planning local fundraising events in the greater Jackson community and is an active member of a Fondren based church plant called the Journey.
